After I got all of my stuff boxed up and left Georgia for great, the relocation itself was simple. My movers handled all the details. All I had to do was get in my vehicle and drive west. A friend made the drive with me, due to the fact that he 'd never ever visited California. We took turns behind the wheel. When I wasn't driving, I passed the time on my mobile phone, texting and binge-watching tv programs. Just later on did I realize the error I 'd made. I had not updated my cell phone contract to reflect my brand-new house. Throughout the cross-country journey, I incurred hundreds of dollars in roaming fees for an expense that usually costs $75. Please don't inform my brand-new task how bad I am at math.
Stuck in the '90s
Once we reached the new place, there was another huge issue. I had not kept in mind to turn on the power at my new residence. My good friend and I had to rent a room at an extended stay hotel the first few nights until the power company showed up. Without power, I also had no other way to understand that I 'd forgotten something else essential. I had not linked my cable television and Web services, either. Let me simply state that going several days without Internet made me feel like I was trapped in the early 1990s. I seemed like getting something pierced and after that enjoying a Nirvana show. Even when I lastly had power at my house, I had no other way to browse the web without utilizing my cellular phone. This is a great time to advise you that I still didn't understand my cellular phone service wasn't updated. I got hit with California roaming charges the whole time I was waiting for the mystical appearance of the cable guy.
The Fuzz

All 3 of those files need upgrading when you alter states of home. I needed to pay a $175 ticket and then over $500 for the new licenses. Just since I got a new job doesn't mean I'm made of money. Why do the police officers not understand this? When I finally got smart to the fact that I needed to update everything, I also attempted to update my automobile insurance coverage. Would you believe they wouldn't let me at first?! I had to send them an entire tree's worth of paperwork in order to convince them I 'd moved. Then, they notified me that I 'd need to pay more for insurance coverage in a greater danger state. Also, I 'd need to pay more till my cars and truck passed the California emissions test. Think what? It didn't! My cherished 1996 supremely American muscle vehicle is too much of a gas guzzler to pass the environmentally-focused state emissions test. I'm going to have to pay more up until I buy a new car. What have I gained from my experience? Literally one hour of planning might have conserved me lots of time and countless dollars. All I had to do was update all my forwarding information, remedy my billing information and cellular phone agreement, and inform my insurance provider about the changes. Another hour or so at the California Department of Motor Automobiles would've corrected all my license and registration issues. Given that I didn't do this, I needed to invest a number of days at a dive motel, got mocked mercilessly by my buddy, and lost a great deal of loan I might've invested in new furniture for my new home phone.
